Sonny was a good friend to me, the Class of '57 and to Broughton.  I'll miss him and his enthusiastic support.

Sorry to hear about losing Sonny. We had a nice phone visit last year when he called to encourage me about my health. He had been through a lot himself and I was thinking that he was over the worst and that he might visit us at one of our get togethers. Rest in peace Sonny, I hope to see you again anyway. Louie

I will miss Bill (Sonny) Dean - he was a special friend. We were friends at NC State and remained friends during his working career with Johnson & Johnson. We were in touch with each other right to the very end.

When we were in high school, I can remember visiting with him and how nice his parents and sisters were and what a welcoming home they had.  They always made me feel like part of the family.  In college at NC State we used to run around together, and we went shagging in different parts of Eastern North Carolina.  He loved to dance.

Sonny was always optimistic and he was aptly named Sonny because he always had a sunny disposition. He loved Broughton High School and was always complimentary of everyone.

Farewell to a special friend.

Harold Wilson
