Warren Randolph (Randy) Tyler

Obituary for Warren "Randy" Tyler of Charlotte, NC
January 24, 1939 – November 7, 2014

Warren "Randy" Tyler passed away November 7, 2014, surrounded by his loved ones.

Randy was born January 24, 1939, in Gates County, to loving parents Jimmy Tyler (deceased) and Ollie Spivey Tyler. Randy met the love of his life, Wilda, in ninth grade. They wed three years later and were inseparable during their 57 year marriage.

Randy was an engineering graduate of NC State and worked in sales and management positions with Ameristeel for 39 years, retiring in 2001. He was a Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary and served as president of Fort Myers Kiwanis, Suncoast Manufacturer's Association, and Southwest Florida Safety Council.

Randy was a gentle man, clever, quick witted, a thinker, a force at cards and games. He loved NASCAR and the Wolfpack. He enjoyed the camaraderie at the YMCA and other social groups. Above all else, his greatest joy was his wife and family. He loved to indulge, tease and support his grandchildren Allison, Janna and Alex. He had a quiet determination and dedication to everything in his life, as evidenced by his long marriage and career, and his decades-long friendships. He was a man who loved unconditionally.

He is survived by his beloved wife Wilda Tyler, sons Allen Tyler and Jimmy Tyler (Sheri Klein), daughter Susan Tyler, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, mother Ollie Tyler, sister Mary Lambeth, and brother Rea Tyler.
