Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Roberts of Raleigh, NC
August 5, 1939 - June 29, 1917
Betsy was the only child of Lillian Stephenson Roberts and Charles P. Roberts. She grew up in Raleigh and spent many of her summers at Atlantic Beach where she developed a love for collecting shells. She was a member of the North Carolina Shell Club.
Betsy also enjoyed volunteering her time, especially during "Bugfest" at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences.
Betsy's greatest love was her church, Western Boulevard Presbyterian. It was her true “home” and she cared for all the members as her own family. When she was more able-bodied, she was at church every time the doors were open. Betsy entered the church triumphant on June 29, 2017.
Betsy will be missed by many friends and family. Denise Weeks, Betsy's cousin, and Henry Burke, Denise's husband, would like to thank the many caregivers who attended to Betsy over the years: the staff at Pruitt Health of Raleigh, the MSICU Critical Care Staff at Rex Hospital, and the members of Western Boulevard Presbyterian - especially Pastor Betty Connette, .
