Eugene Richard Hughes Jr. of Richmond, Va. 

March 28, 1939 - August 13, 2018

Eugene R. Hughes Jr., age 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2018, at Imperial Plaza in Richmond, Va. 

He was born March 28, 1939, in Raleigh, N.C. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hughes; and his sister, Kay Hilgert. 

After receiving a degree in industrial engineering from NC State, Eugene spent his career working for Kodak in New York, Allied Chem and Department of Defense in Richmond, Va. 

He is survived by his children, Brent Hughes and his wife, Theresa, Kristin Ryce and her husband, Steven; and their mother, Barbara Hughes. He had two grandchildren that he loved and adored, Kyle and Gabriella Hughes. Eugene has been a friend of Bill W. for 38 continuous years; he dedicated his time to helping others with recovery.
