Anna Myrtle Moore (Young) of Knightdale, NC 

September 15, 1939 - June 26, 2026

Anna Myrtle Moore Young, 86, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at her home. She was born on September 15, 1939, in Beaufort County, NC, to the late Wilbur David Moore and Anna Bell Sawyer Moore.

Anna was a graduate of Broughton High School in Raleigh. More importantly, she was a woman who knew what mattered in life: family, fantastic music, and the crisp taste of a Dr Pepper. 

Though she had many titles in her 86 years, her absolute favorite was being Jessy’s grandmother—a role she executed with endless pride and spoiling.

She firmly believed that life was meant to be enjoyed, not stressed over. She didn't want a somber farewell, so instead, we are celebrating a phenomenal 86 years of music, mischief, and unmatched love.

Anna is survived by her son, Randy Young and wife, Suzanne Young; best friend and granddaughter, Jessy Young; brother-in-law, Mickey Sauls; and nephews: Chris Sauls, Phillip Sauls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lunsford Young and sister, Wilma Moore
