Goldie Elizabeth Penny (Stokes), 71, of Wendell, NC passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 26, 2011. 

She was born in Raleigh, NC, on August 27, 1939 to the late Buster and Nell Penny.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick (Lee) Stokes on March 26th (his Birthday); her sisters Teresa Rhodes and Ann Sloan; and her brother George Penny.

She is survived by her brother Bobby Penny; her children Lee Stokes, Lori Stokes Anderson, Stacy Stokes Godwin, Matthew Stokes, Mark Stokes and Jeff Stokes; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and (Mema) to many.
