Peggy Yvonne Rainey (Reese) of Pikeville, N.C.

May 8, 1939 - August 30, 2023 

Peggy Yvonne Rainey Reese, 84, died on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. 

She was born in Richmond, Va., to the late Leonard C. and Helene Carroll Rainey and was also preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Ellen Rainey, and her husband, Bobby Ray Reese.

Her family shares that even though she was a tiny lady that she loved to eat and that she loved to shop very much, so much so that they say. “She lived at Walmart and slept at home.”

She is survived by her sons, Wesley Clay Wilkins (Roxey) of Rolesville, Robert Gregory Wilkins (Chrissy) of Bailey, Christopher Todd Wilkins (Jennifer) of Spring Hope and Stephen Michael Wilkins (Jenny) of Pikeville; her cousins, John Casey White of Lynchburg, Va., and Leonard White of Raleigh; eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
