Obituary for Mary Jo Parker (Jackson) of Bozeman, Montana
January 19, 1939 - September 26, 2002

On Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, Mary Jo Parker Jackson passed on at Sunrise Haven, a Christian Science nursing facility in Kent, Wash. She had been a long-time resident of Bozeman. 

She was born Jan. 19, 1939, and raised in Raleigh, N.C., and also lived in Texas, where she met Alan T. Jackson. They were married in 1961, and after living in Germany, North Carolina, Turkey, Missouri and Oklahoma, they settled in Bozeman in 1976 to raise their three children. 

Mary Jo was recognized for her accomplishments in her business as broker/owner of a local real estate firm. Over the years, she developed her gifts for painting and art. She enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing, pottery, reading and singing. She moved to New Bern, N.C., in 1998. 

Mary Jo is best known for her steadfast commitment to God and spiritual living as set forth in Mary Baker Eddy's "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." She was a Christian Science practitioner for nearly 15 years, providing prayerful support for those desiring healing through God. Mary Jo was chosen to be one of 75 Christian Science lecturers worldwide. She traveled extensively throughout the U.S. for three years, sharing spiritual insights with many communities. 

Mary Jo had limitless faith and unwavering courage. She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Jennifer Anderson of Gallatin Gateway, Commander Mark W. Jackson, U.S. Navy, of Norfolk, Va., and Marianne Amsden of Bozeman; her sister, Shirley Rol; father, Willard Parker Sr.; and seven grandchildren. Other family members include the late Willard Parker Jr., her brother; and the late Lucille Parker, her mother.
