Mary Llewellyn Phillips Hill, 87, beloved mother, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Budd Terrace Nursing Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mary Llew was born on September 28, 1938, in Raleigh, North Carolina, to the late Llewellyn Bernice Phillips and Florence Frazelle Phillips. She graduated from Needham Broughton High School and St. Mary's College in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she was a popular student and was voted funniest in her graduating class.

Mary Llew was known for her green thumb and love of gardening and landscaping. She adored dogs and had many faithful canine companions throughout her life. She also had a gentle, loving touch with all animals.

Mary Llew dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her four children. She had an extraordinary gift for making friends and forming lasting relationships. After devoting many years to raising her family, she returned to school at age 50 to complete her Registered Nursing degree. She went on to enjoy several happy years as a surgical nurse at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mary Llew is survived by her children: Michelle Burton, Melissa Hill, Michael Hill, and Maria Hill. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Michael Hill; her parents; and her brother, Mark Phillips.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
