Ferg was a gifted athlete, friend and neigbor. He contributed significantly to Brouthton"s atheltic success in football and baseball. I enjoyed many afternoons and evenings playing basketball in Ferg's back yard.

Ferg was a patriot and served our country with honor. He was modest and unassuming and possed great leadership skills. Men like him do not come along that often. Rest in peace dear friend.

You can find  a more complete obituary. on Legacy.com. (this site would not let me copy it here). It gives details of a Celebration of Life on Monday Sept. 19 at 2:00 PM followed by interment info with full military honors, both in Wilmington.

I was on the Little League All-Star team with Ferg when we were 11. If we had won that last game in South Carolina we would have gone to the Little League World Series. We were also in the 5th grade together.

He truly was an outstanding individual who deserves all the accolades given him.
