Robert Council Cranford, age 74, of 1369 Little Valley Lane in Lincolnton, NC died on Thursday, February 19, 2015.

Mr. Cranford was born on February 27, 1940, in Wake County, to the late Robert Council Cranford Sr. and Elizabeth Bounds Cranford. He graduated from Needham Broughton High School in Raleigh and then later graduated from N.C. State. He formerly lived in Wallace, N.C. where he attended the First Presbyterian Church and worked as a textile engineer for JP Stevens.

He is survived by his wife, Elvie Hammet Cranford of the home; two sons, Bart C. Cranford of Cumming, Georgia and R. Bradley Cranford of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Caraleigh Cranford, Clayton Cranford, and Kaylyn Gideon; one sister, Betsy Cranford of Garner; and one brother, C.B. Cranford and wife Colleen of Ohio.
